Blink 07:26
A blowing leaf Past memory A life so full, Close to the brim You blink Four to the floor Flowers in bloom Admire the days The nights, unfolding Ecstasy Hours, days, years, seconds Lasting an eternity You blink So fast, gone so fast Nothing else to compare this too All around you, fading one by one Or is it you, or is it… You blink Becoming wiser And as you start to understand The meaning of life The more incomprehensible it becomes You blink The more incomp -rehen - sible Fall Ingin Love You blink Harsh realities, Forever alone, Leave no traces on the sea Leave no trace for us to see

Lullaby 03:54
Father, father Don’t you fret Your mind is on vacation You and I might never get To know each other Father, father Don’t you weep Your dreams are recreation From those around you'll meet Close your eyes And rest Father, father Don’t Forget To tell me where you are Or you and I will never get To see each other Father, father Don’t forget To tell me how you are For you and I might never get To meet again Father, father don’t you weep Your life is your creation Make your world tender and sweet Close your eyes and rest

Doors 06:37
I LOVE DOORS. Everything about them Well, almost everything Unbolted, Open Light Heavy Ones that resist to pressure Smooth Bumpy Very well oiled ones Ajar.. for the curious to peak through Squeaky Perfectly installed Poorly fitted or badly adjusted Slammed shut by the wind or dead still With vibrant colours Paint is coming off Stern ones Locked ALL DOORS… or… well, almost all doors Tiny little doors in secret passages Or crooked ones by the cobbled path of a forgotten village Majestic bronze ones that should stop anyone in their tracks - have you seen Hagia Sofia’s ones? Breathtaking. BUT ESPECIALLY THE REALLY OLD WOODEN ONES Fascinating pieces of history Feel them breathe! In fact, they never stopped breathing since they were tiny trees Time watches them crack little by little Whilst humans behind them live and die Incessant laughs, cries and shouts And amongst all that, so much silence And there I am, On both sides Since ever I can remember, Always stopping to marvel at that door Touching, caressing its bark In wonder.

Modulo 7 13:15
7.
Too far to hear my singing, Caressing the silence elegantly In this cold & barren land Growing plants have just paused, Even when you’re not looking. Through a gust of wind Your silence finally reaches me. Now quiet, quite quiet here too A tear might be au-rendez-vous, Though frozen in the stillness; Your gigantic eyes all blurry Through my magnifying glass. Still, I can now see you, and you me.

about

'A set packed with off-centre pleasures and subtle delights' Mojo, 4 stars ****

‘The quietly virtuosic UK vocalist Brigitte Beraha is at her delicately airborne, rhythmically audacious best with her closely entwined Lucid Dreamers band (including fine saxophonist George Crowley) and some sparing electronic support on the idiomatically wide-ranging Blink’. The Guardian

'Easily one of the best vocals-led jazz achievements so far this year and even more interesting because it is so honest and adventurous.’ Marlbank, 4 stars.

'Best of all Beraha is play-ful: full of fun, and in her band mates, her play pals, she has players who are happy to surrender to play-full approaches to serious living’. Jazzwise **** Editor’s Choice

‘Hypnotic, enthralling..’ Liverpool Sound and Vision

‘A big heads up here for a record scarcely off our player recently’, Marlbank
